Special Education Teacher in Aurora, IL

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year focusing on supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This contract position offers 35 hours per week in a school located in Aurora, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Deliver specialized instruction and support aligning with students needs across K-3 grades.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with families and staff.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and social development.

Qualifications:

• Valid Professional Educators License (PEL) for Illinois schools through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
• Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum preferred.
• Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the special education process and student advocacy.
