Job Title : Machine Operator Assistant – Plastic Extrusion

Location : Auburn, WA

Shift Options :

Day Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM | Pay : $20.00 / hour

Night Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM | Pay : $21.50 / hour (includes shift differential)

About the Role

We are a leader in plastic packaging solutions, is seeking a reliable Machine Operator Assistant to join our plastic extrusion team. This role plays a key part in supporting machine operators, maintaining production flow, and ensuring quality standards are met. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-minded, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Assist machine operators with setup, operation, troubleshooting, and light maintenance of extrusion and production equipment.

Monitor production lines and material flow to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Perform quality checks, including visual inspections and precision measurements of finished products.

Conduct sample testing (basis weight, material appearance) and accurately record findings.

Track raw material usage, production data, and defect reports.

Handle, package, and properly label unused raw materials for return or storage.

Set up and monitor resin blenders, ensuring all materials meet production standards.

Oversee machine operations when the primary operator is unavailable.

Confirm calibration of measuring tools and testing instruments.

Support product changeovers, machine cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Must pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and ruler test (measurement accuracy).

Stable work history : no employment gaps over one month and no more than three jobs in the last five years.

Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Previous experience in manufacturing, production, extrusion, or warehouse environments is preferred.
