LPN (Behavioral Health)

Job Description

BJK People's Health Centers is always looking to hire Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). In addition to the duties listed, all opportunities require a passion to serve the community.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Assesses and monitors the clients health status and medical needs. Assist with daily preparation of exam rooms and by securing supplies and equipment, making sure all items are secured at the close of each day's operation. Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. Complete the necessary documentation required on all health and medical aspects of the client's life including vital signs, weighing, medication charting, planning, progress notes, discharge planning, hospitalizations, etc. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with scope of practice. Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of the patient.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

You MUST have a LPN or RN certificate from an accredited school of nursing. A minimum of one year of experience in working with the mentally ill.

Graduation from an accredited university program with two to four years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
