All Bay Cannabis Magazine is hiring: Graphic Designer in Oakland

We are seeking a talented and innovative Graphic Designer who is passionate about magazine publishing and has a strong interest in the cannabis industry. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to the growth of our publications while also being involved in shaping the direction of branding new cannabis companies through corporate strategized art direction and implementation. As part of our team, you will have the chance to work with cutting-edge design techniques and explore new creative avenues in the cannabis industry.

Responsibilities

• Create visually compelling designs for magazine layouts, advertisements, promotional materials, and digital assets
• Collaborate with the editorial team to understand and interpret the content and message of each publication
• Develop and maintain a strong brand identity through art direction and design strategies
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design techniques, and cannabis-related visual aesthetics
• Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their needs and goals for brand development
• Translate client requirements into innovative and engaging visual concepts and designs
• Provide art direction and guidance to ensure consistency and quality across all design projects
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective and eye-catching promotional materials
• Assist in the creation and implementation of corporate branding strategies for new cannabis companies
• Conduct research to gather inspiration and information for design projects
• Maintain organized file management and adhere to project timelines and deadlines
• Adapt designs for various platforms and mediums, including print and digital formats
• Assist in the selection and implementation of appropriate colors, fonts, and imagery for each project

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably in the magazine publishing or branding industry
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Strong portfolio showcasing creative and visually compelling designs
• Knowledge of current design trends and techniques
• Understanding of branding principles and corporate identity development
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
• Interest in and familiarity with the cannabis industry and related visual aesthetics is preferred but not required
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field is preferred
