Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary :

Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients. The role involves performing both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in the Intensive Care and General Practice Units. The Respiratory Therapist maintains clinical expertise for various departmental assignments and communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, physicians, and other healthcare staff regarding patient care needs. The position requires thorough documentation of all aspects of patient care. Additionally, the Respiratory Therapist will supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to Respiratory Therapists, orientation staff, externs, and students as needed, while ensuring accurate completion of patient billing information.

Key Responsibilities :

• Administer life-support, resuscitation, and respiratory therapy to patients.
• Perform diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
• Maintain expertise in various departmental assignments and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately.
• Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to Respiratory Therapists, orientation staff, externs, and students.
• Complete accurate patient billing information.
