Essential Job Functions
1. Assist in preparing meals and snacks according to planned menus and resident dietary
needs.
2. Set up dining areas, serve meals, and clear tables promptly and respectfully.
3. Ensure food is served at proper temperatures and in appropriate portions.
4. Clean and sanitize kitchen, equipment, dishes, and dining areas in accordance with
facility and regulatory standards.
5. Label and store food items properly to maintain freshness and safety.
6. Follow instructions from the Dietary Manager and work as part of the dietary team.
7. Report any resident concerns, food complaints, or changes in appetite to supervisory
staff.
8. Comply with all state and federal regulations, including Department of Health standards
and infection control procedures.
9. Participate in staff training and in-service education as required.
Job Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. Previous experience in food service, especially in a healthcare or long-term care setting,
is a plus but not required.
3. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
4. Ability to follow instructions, work efficiently, and interact courteously with residents
and staff.
Physical Requirements :
1. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up at least 30 lbs.
2. Ability to work in warm or refrigerated environments and handle cleaning chemicals
safely.
3. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus in a busy setting.
