We are seeking a Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in New York. Responsibilities and Duties
Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with various cancers and benign or malignant tumors and diseasesPromote health and protection from disease within the scope of practicePerform history and physical examination, with or without pelvic examOrder and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities specific to hematology / oncologyImplement therapeutic interventions for relevant conditionsAdminister and prescribe chemotherapy / biotherapy as credentialedComplete at least 10 chemotherapy / biotherapy administrations in the past 12 monthsPerform arterial puncture and blood gas samplingProvide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical proceduresPerform incision and drainage of superficial abscessesInsert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubesComplete death certificate protocolsRemove central venous cathetersAdditional Information
Must hold an active NY state licenseRequired certifications : Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)Additional certifications : Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)Demonstrated recent competency in chemotherapy / biotherapy administration requiredBenefits
