What is the role?
This position is responsible for the business development and administration of business banking within the Business Banking team. This includes taking business loan applications, small business administration loan applications and performing preliminary credit analysis as well as loan portfolio administration and servicing, compliance and full understanding and sales of depository and ancillary service products. Each interaction should exceed the members' service expectations and leave the member grateful that they are banking with us. The title of Business Banker or Business Banker Sr. will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
What will be expected of me?
- Build and grow relationships with a dedicated of book business members by asking questions to learn about their financial needs, understanding their goals, and sharing how Westerra can help them by following up through proactive outreach, phone or in-person visits.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of members' needs, based on the review and analysis of personal and business financial data gathered through relationship review and personal meetings providing integrated delivery of financial services.
- Develop revenue-generating member relationships by calling on prospective or existing members, identifying prospects, suitable method of contact, and determination of their needs and appropriate products or services, including cross-market solutions
- Achieve individual monthly production and growth goals for business banking deposits, fees and loans to ensure the Credit Union meets its overall financial and member experience goals.
- Engage with members in all phases of the business life cycle while following policies, leveraging product knowledge and conducting needs-based conversations to identify credit, deposit, and service processing needs.
- Serves as the business banking subject-matter expert and internal resource within the Credit Union.
- Build relationships with community and business organizations and represents Westerra at community and business development events.
- Assist with the onboarding and development of more junior team members
- Consistently demonstrates the Westerra Way Experience and complies with all policies, procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations.

This plan pays out a cash incentive annually if Westerra hits specific criteria tied to financial goals and this role has a direct impact on the outcome of those results!
