The Unified Communications Advisor is responsible for business-to-business sales of VAF’s Unified Communications solutions, with a primary focus on UC-driven technologies and a secondary emphasis on IT-related solutions. This role is a hybrid of net new business development and account base growth, requiring a strong consultative sales approach and the ability to uncover customer needs across voice, collaboration, cloud, and carrier services.
This position requires industry experience in telecommunications, including hosted cloud solutions and carrier services, and the ability to effectively position VAF as a trusted technology partner. The ideal candidate will bring a strong sales background, proven relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage a full sales cycle while maintaining existing customer relationships.
This is an office-based position with significant time spent in the field meeting with customers. Travel within Central Indiana required (generally <25%, rare overnight travel).
What You’ll DoAchieves sales of VAF Unified Communications solutions, including hosted voice, collaboration tools, cloud communications, and carrier services, to new and existing customers
Maintains and grows an assigned account base while actively developing net new business opportunities
Understands customers’ business, communication, and technology needs and recommends appropriate UC-focused solutions
Identifies customer pain points related to communication systems, infrastructure, and service delivery
Conducts cold calls, face-to-face meetings, discovery sessions, and proposal presentations on a regular basis
Develops and manages a healthy sales pipeline designed to meet or exceed assigned sales targets
Authors and delivers professional, value-driven proposals aligned with customer needs
Maintains accurate and timely records in VAF’s CRM system
Builds strong internal relationships to support cross-selling and ensure a seamless customer experience
Participates in required training and maintains industry knowledge related to Unified Communications, cloud, and carrier services
3–5 years of experience in B2B technology, telecommunications, or UC-related sales
Industry experience in Unified Communications, hosted cloud solutions, and carrier services (required)
Proven success in outside sales, account management, and new business development
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills
Experience managing a full sales cycle and maintaining a sales pipeline
Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed
