SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support one of our critical Department of Defense contracts with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command at Rock Island Arsenal IL. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server environments in a secure government setting and will ensure data integrity availability and performance of mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities :

• Administer configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases (2016 and newer) in both on-premises and virtualized environments
• Monitor database performance and proactively optimize queries indexes and system resources
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning including backups replication and failover
• Support database design implementation and migration efforts
• Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to design efficient data structures and integrations
• Apply DoD STIGs and other cybersecurity requirements to databases and related systems
• Perform database security administration in accordance with DoD and Army cybersecurity policies
• Document database architecture standards processes and procedures
• Participate in audits inspections and security accreditation activities as required
• Provide support for data import / export ETL processes and reporting solutions (e.g. SSRS Power BI integration)
