Reliance Aerotech Services is seeking an avionics professional with leadership skills, extensive Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) installations experience, and hands-on expertise with Garmin avionics systems to include any of the following :
Garmin G600 / G500 TXi
Garmin GTN legacy and GTNXi
Garmin GFC600
Garmin GI275
Garmin GTX345R / GTX335R
Our client is based in the Greater Los Angeles area and needs a key leader overseeing avionics retrofit projects. As the Lead Avionics Technician , you’ll manage projects from concept to completion; from developing work scopes and assigning tasks to performing hands-on installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage avionics installation and maintenance projects of all sizes, including retrofit programs on various aircraft.
- Oversee and perform wiring harness fabrication, routing, and termination for avionics and autopilot systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of avionics systems, including Com, Nav, GPS, Transponders, DME, WX Radar, EFIS, Altimeters, Autopilots, Datalink Weather and Traffic Systems, and GPWS.
- Conduct pitot / static and transponder system testing, certification, and RVSM checks.
- Perform Garmin system installations and configurations (G600 installs, L3 trilogy, GTN750, GMX200, GTS820, & GTX33 / 32).
- Execute database and firmware updates, equipment modifications, and airworthiness directive / service bulletin compliance.
- Ensure adherence to FAA regulations and maintain detailed documentation for Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) compliance.
- Coordinate with other service departments to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the avionics department.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members
Job Requirements :
Minimum 5 years of on-the-job avionics experience, including significant installation experience.Proficient in reading and following electrical schematics.Skilled in the use of Avionics tooling : Multimeter, Megger, Milliohm meter, etc.Excellent soldering, wire crimping, connector assembly, and wire harness construction skills.Strong attention to detail with commitment to safety and quality.Must live locally or be willing to relocate.Customer-facing servicing skillsPreferred Qualifications :
Avionics associate’s degree.Proven leadership experience in a team lead or supervisory role.A&P license.Prior experience with multiple avionics brands, including Honeywell, Avidyne, S-TEC, and Aspen Avionics.Experience leading avionics teams on retrofit programs and upgrades for high-performance aircraft.
