Required hours : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM – Thursday through Sunday

MAIN FUNCTION : Provide compassionate care and assistance to individual(s) with intellectual and developmental disabilities including assistance with day to day living activities, personal hygiene, and vocational skill building activities. WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Supports are provided in the home and in the community. May have direct contact with individuals who display unpredictable and challenging behaviors.

  • Maintain good attendance record, including punctuality and leave request procedures.
  • Provides emergency coverage when requested by management.
  • Caring Attitude; promote good work habits; assist new employees.
  • Complete all duties and required documentation set forth by NIA policy / procedures / guideline and DIDD compliance.
  • Maintain clean and neat appearance with appropriate attire for accompanying person supported to various activities.
  • Model professional conduct and ethical behavior.
  • Maintains confidentiality of records / information according to HIPAA, State, Federal laws, and guidelines .

    • PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS :

  • Must be able to move or lift a minimum of 25 pounds. The employee may occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds with assistance from a second person or mechanical device.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, walk, and respond to challenging behaviors with prescribed techniques.
  • Must be able to work outside of normal work hours including nights, holidays and weekends as needed to meet Agency and position demands.
  • May involve sitting for brief periods of time.
