Project Overview:

RGLNG is a natural gas and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and two marine berths. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Job Summary:

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 25 craft)

• Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
• Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.

Planning / Productivity

• Determines workforce requirements.
• Coordinates established area operational plans.

Tools, Materials & Equipment

• Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
• Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.

Safety & Quality

• Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
• Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Technical

• Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
• Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Champions the ZERO Accident Philosophy and provides leadership for safety, environmental and fire prevention on the project.
• This includes safety orientation, preparation of safety procedures, leading toolbox talks and leading Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings.
• Have a working knowledge of earthworks, shoreline protection, working on or near water operations and civil marine infrastructure general concepts.
• Understands how to coordinate field activities with other disciplines.
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
• Extensive experience in civil construction of large LNG projects, including in a Cross GBU setting.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork skills, advanced communication. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish is desirable.
• Has ability to prepare and implement 3-week look-ahead, four-week rolling schedule and budget control with support from Field Engineering and Project Controls.
• Responsible for the cost, schedule and optimization of craft labor.
