  • Design and launch communications campaigns that resonate
  • Build and run digital efforts that drive action
  • Create powerful visual identities, stories, and content that spark connection

SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, EARNED MEDIA

Are you a strategic storyteller with a talent for shaping the news cycle and building meaningful media relationships? Do you thrive in fast-moving environments and love digging into what makes a story land? If you’re a proactive leader who can think several steps ahead, spot the strongest angles, secure top-tier coverage, and drive high-impact earned media strategies, you may be a great fit for the Senior Account Executive role in our Earned Media Vertical.

We’re looking for someone who brings sharp judgment, strong writing skills, and a deep understanding of how earned media connects with social, paid, and owned channels. You should be naturally curious about the modern media landscape – from emerging trends to shifting newsroom dynamics – and eager to translate that knowledge into thoughtful, creative approaches for clients. You are a great candidate if you are a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, excels at managing multiple priorities, and are excited to drive the most strategic and creative approaches to help our clients break through.

Whether your background is in journalism, public affairs, advocacy, government, or media relations, you’ll play a critical role in developing strategy, shaping storylines, driving outreach, and preparing clients for moments that matter. If you’re a collaborative problem-solver who keeps campaigns moving, this role could be a great fit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Media Strategy Development and Execution across multiple client accounts with increasing autonomy and accountability
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans, messaging frameworks, and earned media strategies that advance client goals
  • Serve as a primary client point of contact—building strong relationships, proactively identifying needs, and ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Drive earned media efforts by leading story development, building relationships with reporters, pitching top-tier outlets, and securing impactful media placements
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, ensuring high standards for client deliverables and supporting professional development
  • Translate complex policy, social, or political issues into clear, compelling narratives tailored to a variety of audiences
  • Contribute to brand, visual, and digital strategy work in partnership with creative and digital teams.
  • Stay on top of news cycles, cultural trends, and political developments to inform client recommendations and rapid response efforts
  • Lead or support new business efforts by identifying prospects, shaping proposals, contributing to pitch meetings, and offering at least two new business ideas per quarter
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and team workflows, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal quality standards
  • Participate in agency-wide initiatives that strengthen company culture, improve internal processes, and advance RALLY’s mission
  • Collaborate with your Role Sponsor to define and pursue a personalized professional development plan that supports long-term growth at RALLY
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5–7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or issue advocacy—preferably in an agency, nonprofit, campaign, or foundation setting
  • Demonstrated success leading client relationships and executing multi‑channel communications strategies
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, persuasive content
  • Deep familiarity with media relations best practices, including reporter engagement, pitching, and message development
  • Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of how communications can shape public opinion, influence policy, and drive action
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with attention to detail
  • Skilled at mentoring junior staff and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing team environment
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools such as Cision, Critical Mention, Meltwater, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, project management platforms, and AI writing or research tools is a plus
  • Curious, adaptable, and grounded in a commitment to social change, equity, and progressive values
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and solutions‑oriented, with strong emotional intelligence and a sense of humor
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to step confidently into leadership roles
  • BENEFITS AND PERKS

At RALLY, we believe a business is only as strong as its people. That’s why we offer a robust benefits package and thoughtful perks that support your wellbeing, fuel your growth, and reflect the culture we’re building together.

We believe changing the world should come with a healthy paycheck, time to recharge, and space to grow. Here’s what we offer :
