Position Title : Pharmacy Technician
Work Location : Irving, TX 75014
Assignment Duration : 4+ Months
Work Schedule : MondayFriday, 9 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM CT (1 hour lunch break)
Work Arrangement : Onsite - Candidate must reside within a 2-hour driving distance of Irving, TX
Position Summary :
The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations by accurately creating patient profiles and entering prescription data. This position is responsible for reviewing prescriptions for completeness and contacting physician offices to clarify any discrepancies or missing information. The Pharmacy Technician ensures the integrity of patient records and contributes to the safe and efficient processing of prescriptions in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

- Checks all orders for completeness of information.
- Ability to read and interpret prescriptions
- Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
- Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
- Responsible for assisting Pharmacists in the safe distribution of medications and the provision of pharmaceutical care.
- Enter and process new prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system where permitted by pharmacy regulation, and only at the direction of the supervising pharmacist after their review of the prescription in accordance with The Company policy and procedure.
- Maintains a neat and clean workstation.
- Accurately process all orders in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining the accuracy of software templates.
- Other tasks as assigned by Management.
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
