Assistant Professor Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health Physician Scientist

The Department of Pediatrics Division of Pediatric Psychology & Developmental Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Childrens Wisconsin (CW) seeks a board certified / board eligible psychologist to join our expanding Division. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.

Position Highlights :

• Primary responsibilities include conducting research in infant and early childhood brain development as well as related clinical patient care including psychological evaluation. The scholarly focus will be on developmental clinical neuroscience with a specific emphasis on infants and young children born prematurely and / or at risk for poor developmental outcomes. Research includes collaborative research studies using EEG and eye tracking in this patient population.
• Clinical 25% including psychological evaluation and care of infants and preschoolers born prematurely or at risk for poor developmental outcomes
• Research 75%
• Qualified candidates will have a strong publication record in this research field and be well positioned to be highly competitive for an NIH K award or ESI R01
• This will be a collaborative position with faculty and researchers in Pediatric Psychology & Developmental Medicine Neonatology Mental & Behavioral Health and other fields
• Locations the position may work in : Childrens Center for Child Development Wauwatosa and Childrens Wisconsin Milwaukee campus
• Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.

Childrens Wisconsin and Childrens Specialty Group

Childrens Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Childrens Wisconsin provides primary care urgent care emergency care specialty care mental and behavioral health services community health services foster and adoption services child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year the Childrens Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care advocacy research and Northeast Wisconsin Childrens Wisconsin is expanding its services to provide increased access to outstanding pediatric subspecialty care. This includes a pediatric hospital with a Pediatric Unit Level III NICU and Infusion Center which is located at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah WI. A multispecialty pediatric ambulatory clinic with on-site laboratory and radiology services opened in Appleton 2023.

Childrens and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin the Childrens Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Childrens Surgery Verification Center Level I Pediatric Trauma Center Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence 72-bed Level IV NICU Level IV Epilepsy Center and a 72-bed 2021-2022 CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report : cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers CSG providers had 220000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites 67000 emergency department / trauma center visits and over 9000 admissions.
