Position Overview:

Under minimal supervision, performs more complex functions and analysis for the Accounts Receivable Department to support A/R operations, ensure financial integrity of A/R systems, complete A/R related accounting functions and facilitate annual audit requests.Essential Functions: (may include, but are not limited to)
  • Perform A/R Module system reviews to ensure financial integrity, accuracy of revenue transactions and accuracy of reimbursement rates.
  • Develop and facilitate monthly reporting and process automation to support key Accounts
  • Receivable goals, profitability/reimbursement maximization & collections efficiency.
  • Create Policies & Procedures to document standardized Business Office functions which support operational efficiency, billing accuracy, and collection efforts.
  • Prepare journal entries on a monthly or ad-hoc basis.
  • Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable related balance sheet account reconciliations and schedules for Accounting Department.
  • Review facility Patient Refund & Credit Card Refund Requests for accuracy and sufficient back up documentation before sending to Corporate A/R Manager for approval.
  • Assist with external audits, government audits, and internal audits (., annual CPA Firm Audit, Medi-Cal Audits, .
  • Assist with organization and recordkeeping procedures for audit back-up.
  • Regularly attend or provide subject matter for BOM and/or Regional A/R Team meetings, making presentations as necessary; follow up on action items from the meetings.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong computer skills—specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Broad understanding of financial accounting and internal control procedures.
  • Familiar with accounting transactions and GAAP.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Team player.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields.
  • 2+ years of related experience in General Ledger Accounting.
  • Experience in healthcare accounting.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
