Description
The Town of Davie has transitioned to a four (4) day work week schedule (10 hours per day). Hours of work are Monday through Thursday either 7:00am-5:30pm or 7:30am-6:00pm. This is advanced technical work in desktop/laptop computer systems environment; mobile terminal devices (MTDs); Law Enforcement/Public Safety Software and Networks. The Desktop Support Coordinator position is a field-support position which directly diagnoses, maintains and repairs all Town-owned computer and peripheral equipment as well as supports and manages moves, add-ons, and/or changes. Provides support for warranty repairs, inventory reporting and validation; also, end user training. Reports to the Information Technology Supervisor or Project Manager.

Education and Experience:
REQUIRED:
- Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years full time experience in a desktop support environment .
- Additional qualifying experience in a job related field may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Licenses and/or Certificates :
REQUIRED: - A+ Certification.
- N+ and MD-102 or the ability to obtain these certifications within one (1) year of appointment.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Driver's License.
PREFERRED - MS-500 or MS700 certification.
- Knowledge of Information Technology Industry current technologies including Internet hosting and connectivity, Document Management, MS Office, Dell Desktop business models and laptops, local area networks, wireless local area networks (WLAN).
Special Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Considerable knowledge of state-of-the-art computer hardware and software.
- Considerable knowledge of Local and Wide Area Network structures and associated administrative functions.
- Knowledge and practical experience with Dell Desktop and Laptops, Lenovo Desktops and Laptops, TCP/IP, Wireless Technology and mobile data-reporting computing, Mobile Tablet Devices (IPAD's, etc.).
- Familiar with the following software vendors and programs: MS O365, Teams, Network Based Imaging and Desktop Deployment and Anti-Virus; Microsoft O/S Windows and Office Products, AT&T Wireless GPRS and Edge Networks, Verizon Mobile Wireless, DELL KACE, Microsoft Systems Center, WSUS/Network Based Software Deployment tools.
- Ability to train Town staff in the operation and use of computers and standard Town software.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and provide excellent customer service to users.
- Ability to think critically and logically to resolve problems as well as to independently set priorities and organize work.
