Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all strategic and day-to-day operational functions across the company’s supply and delivery business. This includes logistics, driver and fleet management, pricing strategy, supplier relationships, customer service, compliance, and profitability.
This leader drives operational performance while strengthening relationships with key partners, ensuring reliable and cost-effective fuel services, and maintaining alignment with the company’s values and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, People & Culture
- Build a high-performance, accountability-focused culture and reinforce company values.
- Support talent acquisition and retention strategies for drivers, technicians, and operational staff.
- Promote ongoing learning and leadership development across the organization.
- Maintain a strong safety program aligned with all DOT, OSHA, environmental, and industry standards.
- Ensure teams and operations are audit-ready and compliant.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Translate organizational goals into operational plans with clear performance targets.Oversee dispatch, routing, product delivery, fleet maintenance, and terminal operations.Manage both in-house and contracted logistics partners to ensure efficient service.Lead cost-effective sourcing, price and margin management, and risk mitigation.Evaluate market expansion opportunities and ensure regulatory readiness when entering new territories outside New York State.Work collaboratively across departments to optimize processes, technology, and reporting systems.Financial & Business Management
Own the fuel division’s P& L and ensure profitable growth.Develop operating and capital budgets; analyze results and drive improvements.Implement cost controls and maximize asset utilization.Monitor pricing models and market conditions to maintain competitiveness.Strengthen supplier partnerships to guarantee reliable and cost-effective product availability.Customer & Partner Relationships
Foster strong relationships with key retail and wholesale customers.Proactively address service needs and maintain high satisfaction levels.Build and sustain vendor partnerships to support growth and operational alignment.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, or related field — or equivalent progressive experience in logistics, distribution, or transportation.Success managing P& L, multi-site operations, and third-party logistics providers.Experience with fleet management systems, DOT compliance, ERP, and dispatch software.Strong knowledge of wholesale fuel supply, pricing structures, and distribution networks.
