Duties
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans, and counsel patients on health and wellness.
Core duties and responsibilities

Patient assessment:
Conduct thorough physical examinations, take patient histories, and perform initial patient observations.

Diagnosis and treatment:
Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
Diagnostic tests:
Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and CT scans and MRIs.
Prescriptions and therapies:
Prescribe medications, therapies, and other treatments.
Care planning:
Create and implement individualized patient care plans and manage overall patient care.
Patient education:
Educate and counsel patients and their families on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and managing their conditions.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including medical histories and test results.
Collaboration:
Work with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and specialists to coordinate patient care.
Perform minor procedures: Carry out routine medical procedures as needed.
Monitor patient status: Continuously monitor patient health, evaluate the effectiveness of treatments, and make necessary adjustments.
Supervise staff: In some settings, manage and supervise other nurses and clinical staff.
Specialized care: Provide care within a specific specialty, such as pediatrics, family health, or mental health.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, and schedule, the daily workload of each district, utilizing Agency personnel to their fullest capacity.
- Provide daily supervision of district nurses, and Home Health Aides, to ensure the quality of services and maintenance of standards.
- Review, and investigate, the clinical content, diagnoses, medical history, medications, fee status, and other procedures, from the records of patients.
- Direct staff toward the appropriate use of community resources.
- Appraise staff performance, during their probationary period, and annually, with the Clinical Manager; provide the teaching and counseling necessary to enhance the delivery of services, and the professional development, of nursing and Health Aide staff.
- Identify, and evaluate, patient needs and appropriateness of home care, by reviewing the initial intake screening form before assignment of direct care staff.
- Participate in community related functions, as necessary.
Company Information
Has access to all patient medical records, and patient financial accounts, which may be discussed with Clinical Manager, the Administrator, the Executive Director, the Director of Reimbursement, and the Quality Assurance Department. Has access to department's staff personnel records.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Program.
- Must be a FNP licensed by the state.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years nursing experience, one of which is in Neurology preferred.
- Must have a criminal background check.
- Must have current CPR/ACLS certification. Online certification is not accepted
