Patient Transporter

Position Purpose : Under direction of the Director, Patient Transport, individual will transport patients and visitors to destinations throughout the hospital via the mini cab (golf cart) in a safe and timely manner.

What you will do :

• Demonstrates a commitment to consistently provide the highest quality services in a professional manner.
• Transport patients and visitors to desired locations in a timely and safe manner following proper departmental procedure.
• Completes patient transportation within expected time frames.
• Utilizes proper mini cab (golf cart) techniques and etiquette.
• Promptly responds to patient transportation requests.
• Ability to understand and apply knowledge of basic patient safety concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.
• Contributes to the achievement of excellence following hospital and departmental guidelines.

Working Conditions : Position requires ability to frequently assist in the lifting of objects / individuals, perform moderately difficult manipulative, gross body and hand-eye coordination skills; and sit for prolonged periods of time. Full-time general hospital environment with considerable periods of sitting and some walking.

Minimum Qualifications : Education : High School Diploma Required. Experience : Customer service experience required & previous golf cart driving experience desired. Licensure : Valid driver's license.

Job Skills : Effective organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary; ability to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner. Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills.
