The Junior Biomedical Internship program will have a biomedical research internship track where students will have the opportunity to be a part of a research project in areas such as tissue engineering, biomaterials, or biosensors, and an entrepreneurship track focused on biomedical innovation. Students in the biomedical research track will have the opportunity to be a part of team-focused research projects and to develop cutting-edge technology. Students participating in the entrepreneurship track will learn about the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing logical and analytical thinking skills, solve problems, and acquire skills such as research, data analysis
- Understanding the technology platforms developed at TIBI
- Work on impact assessments
- Marketing research
- Business strategies
SECLECTION CRITERIA
- Be self-governed and work well in a team environment
- Be responsible and have strong time management skills
- Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Potential for program to help the applicant achieve their career goals
REQUIREMENTS
- U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident
- Must be available to participate in a 10week program at minimum.
- Undergraduates enrolled in four-year colleges and universities in the U.S., Puerto Rico and other U.S. Territories.
- Prior to beginning the program, completion of at least two years of undergraduate study
- Intention to pursue a Ph.D. or a joint M.D./Ph.D. in a bioscience field and not admitted to or enrolled in a graduate program (M.S. or Ph.D.) at the time the program begins
