Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanic to oversee and perform advanced maintenance and repair of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, diagnostic skills, and the ability to guide and support a maintenance team while ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles and equipment
- Lead and support mechanics in daily repair and maintenance activities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures
- Maintain accurate repair records and documentation
- Operate equipment and vehicles as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Class C Driver License
- Class B Driver License must be obtained within one year of date of hire and maintained thereafter
- Must obtain a Forklift Operator’s Certificate within six months of date of hire
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Ability to read and interpret vehicle, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical diagrams, as well as repair parts manuals
- Completion of a two-year apprenticeship training program or equivalent vocational school coursework in automotive repair is desirable
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent, paid experience as a journey-level automotive/equipment mechanic, preferably working on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
- ASE certifications preferred
