Maternity Leave School Social Worker - Illinois 2025-2026 School Year

Our Organization is seeking a caring and skilled School Social Worker to join an elementary school team in Illinois for short-term coverage. This full-time role offers the chance to make a lasting impact by supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students in a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Position Overview :

As a School Social Worker, you will provide individual and group counseling, conduct assessments, and design interventions that help remove barriers to learning. Working closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll contribute to IEPs, develop behavior support plans, and promote positive student outcomes. You will also serve as a vital connection between the school and community agencies, ensuring families have access to resources that support student growth and well-being.

Strong communication skills, cultural competence, and the ability to build trusting relationships will be key to your success in this role. Your work will not only empower students to thrive academically and socially but will also strengthen the overall school community.

Requirements

Hold a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program and possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Work endorsement. Applicants should have successfully completed a 600-hour supervised internship within a school setting and passed the Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) exam for School Social Workers. Ideal candidates will bring strong skills in collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving to effectively support students, families, and school staff.
