[job_card.job_description]Master of Science Degree in Speech and Language Pathology American Speech and Language Certification Oklahoma State Licensure Comply with JCAHO and CARF standards Experience in, and competent to perform direct speech / language therapy care with adults and supervise direct care staff in the delivery of services Two years’ experience in rehabilitation or psychiatric setting Experience in Neuro rehabilitation with patients suffering from Traumatic Brain Injuries preferred Dysphagia experience is a huge plus, but not required Knowledge of neurogenic communication disorders, physical rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, psychiatric rehabilitation, behavior modification, and management of aggressive behaviors preferred Requires the ability to read, write, and process information accurately Requires the ability to sit or stand for long period of time Requires the ability to walk long distances May be required to lift, push or pull at least 65 lbs Medical Insurance, Dental and Vision Insurance No cost medical insurance option available! This is an Exempt position with the starting salary being $80,089 commensurate based on experience.
Position Summary : Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Speech / Language Pathology Department of the Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute at Brookhaven Hospital and related community residential programs.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Meet the communication needs of patients with speech, language, cognitive, or hearing disorders.
- Assess swallowing status for dysphagia patients
- Provision of direct patient care, evaluations, documentation, supervision of rehabilitation technicians
- Participation in performance improvement efforts of the facility
