Position Summary :
Develop contingencies for planned and unplanned supply chain interruptions. Key contributor to customer satisfaction metric. Coordinates with the transportation department the distribution of freight in the most economically advantageous manner. Develop tactical scenarios for the business, including expected demand, supply, and inventory levels. Understand financial impact of branch transfer allocation, customer service and transportation decisions. Identify opportunities for intermodal moves. Provide routine reports to management as needed; such as back log and open orders. Monitor and maintain master data set up in alignment with the strategy established by management. Monitor and action slow moving / obsolete and remnant inventory.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage Branch Transfer and Purchases of Finished Goods sources, and inventory planning decision through distribution requirements planning for Ventura Foods manufacturing and distribution facilities.
- Manages transfer performance by addressing day-to-day issues such as late loads, load rejections, and quality issues.
- Supports internal customers by providing information on shortages to Supply Chain Manager.
- Maintains information in the Planning template.
- Mitigates problems by applying a broad view of situational implications and total cost impacts.
Education and Experience :
0-2 years of purchasing experience.Relevant JDE and / or AS400 experience preferred.High school diploma and / or equivalent education required.College education / degree a plus.Knowledge and Skills :
Proficient with MS Office.Knowledge of material planning procedures, requisitions, purchase orders, and planning terminology.Analytical problem solving capability, strong organization skills, and ability to manage change effectively.Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.General supply chain knowledge including planning and inventory management.
