Description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is looking for an Assistant CAD Operator 3 for support of civil engineering projects. This position requires working in a team-based environment with engineering and other technical subject matter experts. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for projects working under engineering supervision. This position is eligible for GAI's flexible Hybrid workplace place / Telework Policy. #INDHP

Job Duties :

  • Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files.
  • Create new drawings from templates or from scratch with title blocks and border drawing blocks.
  • Create and modify drawing blocks, borders, and title blocks
  • Provide direction for compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
  • Use of scaling with model and paper space.
  • Ability to use style and formatting in CAD software.
  • Knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, including the creation of Surfaces, Grading, Volumes, and Profiles.
  • Knowledge of Transoft Auto TURN extension for AutoCAD
  • BIM experience preferred.

  • 3+ Years of Experience

    • Education

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School orequivalent experience

    • Technical Responsibilities

  • Clear understanding of geospacial relationships. Perform general review ofproject work. Advanced knowledge of aspects of corporate and group standards

    • Project and Task Management

  • Responsible for personal task management and adherence todeadlines and scope

    • Management Responsibility

  • Provides minimal oversight and begins to provide mentoring to lower-level CAD Operators
  • Given general instructions and performs work independently withminimal supervision

    • Communication Skills

  • Possess very good oral and written communication skills. Interacts effectively with other staff. Able to coach and mentor lower-level CAD staff as required to facilitate projects
