This job is for a Data Engineer who is highly experienced (10 years) and very strong in Snowflake and Python working onsite in Parsippany NJ.

The candidate must be local or within 2 hours driving distance.

What the Job Really Means

You will be doing the following :

1. Building and organizing data in Snowflake

Creating proper data models and schemas

Making sure data is easy to access and performs well

2. Creating and managing data pipelines

Bringing data from different systems into Snowflake

Transforming and preparing it for analysis (ETL / ELT)

3. Writing strong SQL and Python

Writing very complex SQL queries

Writing Python stored procedures within Snowflake

4. Improving performance

Making slow queries run faster

Fixing bottlenecks in the data pipeline

Optimizing Snowflake resources

5. Ensuring security and access control

Managing permissions encryption and data governance

Making sure data is protected

6. Documentation & Maintenance

Documenting data models pipelines and logic

Keeping everything well-maintained

7. Troubleshooting issues

Identifying and resolving data pipeline or database issues

Supporting users and teams when they face data problems

8. Collaborating with teams

Working with data architects engineers and business users

Understanding business needs and turning them into technical solutions

Additional Skills

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts

Experience writing stored procedures functions tables scripts

Database testing and data comparison

GitLab CI / CD DevOps tools

Some experience with AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
