Supervise and coordinate the activities of all staff at the branch. Maintain a safe workplace environment, ensure compliance with applicable laws and attract and retain qualified team members. It is the Branch Manager's objective to meet or exceed the annual EBIT, sales budget and inventory goals while fulfilling the customers' expectations for supply of product and service.
Essential tasks include hiring and supervising employees, reviewing work, planning work schedules, communicating with employees, appraising and documenting employee performance, enforcing company policies, counseling employees, preparing reports, reporting work-related injuries, working the parts counter, ensuring customer service, maintaining inventory, leading sales meetings, maintaining a top 25-customer list, developing product pricing strategy, suggesting additions or deletions to inventory, reviewing inventory reports, reviewing branch accounts receivable aging, establishing preventive maintenance plans, maintaining physical inventory variances, maintaining branch appearance, and ensuring uniform telephone answering.
Skills include monitoring, judgment and decision making, management of personnel resources, communicating, active learning, time management, mathematics, critical thinking, and coordination.
Attributes include oral expression, oral comprehension, problem sensitivity, and deductive reasoning.
Physical demands include handling of normal stock, including lifting or carrying parts in excess of 60 lbs. up to 15% of the time. Majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs.
Environmental/atmospheric conditions include inside/outside conditions, varied temperature changes, minimal chemical hazards, vibration, dust, and vehicle noise.
OSHA approved steel toed safety shoes are required from the first day of this job.
Qualifications include a high school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate), an associate's degree in business administration preferred, minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy duty truck parts industry, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
