Position Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist providing essential respiratory assessment, support, and treatment in acute care, emergency, and outpatient settings. This role primarily involves night shifts with 12-hour rotations, delivering critical respiratory care and diagnostic testing.
Key Responsibilities: - Administer emergency respiratory interventions including artificial respiration and CPR assistance.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy by assessing vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry, collaborating with physicians when adverse reactions occur.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests as needed.
- Operate respiratory devices such as high flow oxygen systems, BiPAP, mechanical ventilators, aerosol generators, and environmental control systems according to prescribed treatment parameters.
- Provide training and support to clinical staff within your area of expertise.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians and nurses to optimize patient care.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and accurately document all care activities in electronic or written records.
Education and Experience: - Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program is required.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
- State respiratory therapist license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (to be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Experience in critical care settings is essential.
