Laborer / Equipment Operator

Job Opportunity At J. Cumby Construction

J. Cumby Construction is a fully licensed general contractor based in Cookeville, Tennessee. We specialize in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, commercial, and industrial types of construction. We are looking for a laborer with equipment operating experience for our heavy civil construction project in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Operate pneumatic and electrical tools, concrete vibrators, compactors, concrete saws, cut-off saws, jackhammers, and heavy equipment
• Dig, spread and level dirt and gravel using a pick and shovel
• Lift, carry and hold building material, tool and supplies
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
• Mixes, pour and spreads concrete, asphalt gravel and other material using hand tools
• Joins, wraps, seals and beds sections of underground pipe and pipe penetrations
• Must be able to understand verbal instructions
• Experience in operating heavy equipment such as trackhoes, backhoes, loaders or excavators is a plus
