What you’ll do :
The Controller will assist the Director of Finance with the preparation and monitoring of the multi-entity financial functions of the agency, ensuring fiscal responsibility of the organization and the delivery of timely and accurate financial information. They will be responsible for preparation of moderate to complex accounting and analysis in a managed care environment. Manages and trains staff within the department as assigned.
The position requires adherence to GAAP and application of accounting principles, advanced analytical and interpersonal communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Assist the Director of Finance in the planning, organization, and implementation of monitoring systems for the financial functions of the agency, which includes multi-entity general ledgers, accounts payable systems, payroll systems, journal entries, cash flow projections, budgets and numerous analytical projects.
- Assume the financial leadership with EMPACT-SPC., handling the day-to-day communications with management regarding such entity and managing all of the accounting functions including financial statement preparation, cash flow forecasting, budgets and overseeing monthly billing functions.
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries as assigned for EMPACT-SPC.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and narrative for EMPACT-SPC. Analyze actual budget variances and report findings to Director of Finance and / or senior management as assigned.
- Analyze the content of general ledger accounts for accuracy and prepare journal entries as necessary to reclassify information to correct accounts / entities as needed.
- Assist Accountants and other finance staff in understanding, streamlining, and documenting their functions as directed.
- Prepare schedules for the annual audit and tax returns for EMPACT-SPC. Take a lead role in the audit process. Coordinate audit requests, assisting auditors and staff as needed.
- Take a lead position in the annual budget preparation of the entities. Responsibilities include :
- forecasting of the revenues and expenses.
- development and maintenance of complex allocation models utilizing budget software.
- collect and compile operating and department expense budgets.
- preparation of capital budgets.
- cash flow projections
- prepare executive summaries.
- Reconcile and analyze reports for encounter value and provider monitoring of agencies contracted with EMPACT-SPC. Perform subsequent analysis as required for executive management decision making.
- Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate funds exist for required expenditures.

- Perform other duties as assigned. Provides ad hoc analytical support for the corporation. Projects are assigned as needs arise and will be of varying degrees of complexity.
What you’ll provide :
Education and Experience :
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or CPA license preferred.Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.7+ years of experience of accountant / financial analysis experience required.Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience in an Accounting or Finance department required, preferably in a health related industry.Required Skills / Abilities :
Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general ledger software.Experience in all aspects of accounting including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and in financial analysis.Ability to take on the responsibility for the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow monitoring of a major organization.Excellent oral and written communication skillsDetail Oriented and strong organization skills.Strong internal and external customer service skills.Maintain a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners.What you’ll experience :
