P rimary Purpose :

Under general supervision maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district.

E ducation / Certification :

High school diploma or GED,

Valid Texas driver's license

S pecial Knowledge / Skills :

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate (verbally).
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to operate mowers, weed eaters and blowers.
• Acceptable driving record

This job requires the following physical demands : significant lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent walking, standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching and / or crawling; work at elevated heights; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions; significant fine finger dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception, and peripheral vision. Demonstrate strength and dexterity to operate tools, mowers and landscaping equipment. Occasionally required to work from ladders; and exposed to noise from power equipment.

Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 50% walking, and 45% standing. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and hazardous conditions and requires frequent district wide travel.
