[job_card.job_description]Proven experience (7+ years) as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments. Strong expertise in SQL Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022). Solid understanding of T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and indexing. Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, DPA, Redgate, SolarWinds). Hands-on experience with HA / DR technologies (Always On, Mirroring, Clustering). Familiarity with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server) is a plus. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible). Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is an advantage. Knowledge of DevOps / CI-CD pipelines for database deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies for optimization.
- Manage database backups, restores, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions (Always On, Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping).
- Implement and maintain database security, including roles, permissions, and encryption.
- Perform capacity planning, space management, and database upgrades / patches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and deadlocks.
- Support developers with query tuning, indexing strategies, and schema design.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and auditing standards.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for database procedures and configurations.
