This position is located within the Office of Information & Technology (OIT), End User Services (EUS), District Operations, at a Veterans Administration duty location within the U.S. The incumbent serves as the primary advisor and point of contact to the Area senior IT executive manager and management officials on information management (IM) issues and IT projects under development or planned for the serviced organization(s).

Salary : $106,437 to $138,370 per year. The salary range listed reflects the Rest of US salary table. Upon selection, the salary may be adjusted to include the location of the selectee.

To qualify for this position, all qualification requirements, listed below, must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirement : Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
Applicants must meet all requirements when a request is received to fill a vacancy. You may qualify based on your experience as described below :
Basic Requirements : Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and / or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the five competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
AND Specialized Experience : You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as :
Administer information systems security program and implements information systems security procedures. Provide oversight of the operation of an information technology unit that includes multiple IT disciplines. Plan work, keeps supervisor informed of issues or controversies that arise unexpectedly, and recommends solutions to issues. Monitor customer satisfaction, trouble ticket resolution and other data as needed to determine effectiveness of the program. Make recommendations on changes in organizational structure. Coordinate installation of applications such as commercial of the shelf software, and business specific software. Evaluate a wide range of information systems. Act as an advocate for IT requirements to various vendors and external support organizations. Develop performance improvements in technology, work flow, quality management for IT processes and systems. Develop and maintain a contingency plan for information and IT systems.
