POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE : Kettle Campaign Assistant

LOCATION / DEPT : Oakbrook Terrace Corps

REPORTS TO : Corps Officers

FLSA CATEGORY : Non-Exempt

STATUS TYPE : TPT

PAY GRADE : 201

PAY RANGE : $16.60 - $20.00

OUTCOMES

Provide transportation and coordination for kettle season. In doing so, maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as : resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors, and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport Bellringers and kettles to and from sites.
  • Help to maintain equipment, checking that all Bellringers are clean and presentable.
  • Provide badges to bellringers when dropped off.
  • Coordinate with Corps Officers on all disciplinary problems.
  • Log drop off & pick up times of Bellringers on route sheet and have Bellringers sign-off.
  • Conduct periodical site checks throughout the day to ensure that Bellringers are working.
  • Assist with daily counting of monies as needed.
  • Secure monies always.
  • Ensure compliance with all procedures related to assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Corps Officers. In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual act as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • 1-year related experience with a good knowledge of the area.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Clearance of TSA MVR check.

  • POSITION LIMITATIONS

  • This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
  • This individual will keep the Corps Officers informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
  • This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is required to do light physical
  • In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position the employee is regularly required to drive and set up kettle equipment.
  • This position requires the ability to lift at least 25
  • The work environment for this position included an office or outside environment with a low to high noise
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This would include but not be limited to such actions : resolution of conflicts in a positive manner; courteous treatment of staff, clients, and visitors; respect of others' property and person, professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors, and subordinates.
