Position Responsibilities

• Manage the team responsible for designing, building, implementing, and supporting distribution and fulfillment technologies within our fulfilment operations.
• Identify, evaluate, test, and implement new technologies for Guitar center’s distribution centers.
• Educate operational leaders how technology works, can be applied and fits into Guitar center’s operations.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with the business to understand the strategic direction, processes and needs of the business.
• Manage and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers.
• Ability to work well across diverse groups, and influence and get things done.
• Define the scope to evaluate technology in Guitar center’s distribution centers and warehouses.
• Work with vendors to conduct pilot tests on a limited scale before large-scale investment.
• Develop estimates and build business cases to implement.
• Adapt technology based upon the lessons learned in pilot.
• Oversee projects to their successful completion.
• Conduct site visits to locations where technology is implemented.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years’ experience in logistics/supply chain/warehousing related technologies.
• Should be based out of Kansas City, MO or be willing to relocate and work in the office at least 3 days a week.
