As our Talent Acquisition Partner supporting the Division of Academic Affairs youll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of SDSU by helping departments across all seven colleges the university library and academic support units attract hire and retain talented staff and management professionals who advance our academic mission.
Reporting to the Assistant HR Director for Employment Services with a dotted-line relationship to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Financial Operations youll lead the full talent acquisition lifecycle from strategic planning and outreach through onboarding. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys both the strategic and hands-on sides of recruiting and thrives in a collaborative high-impact environment.
What Youll Do :
Be a Strategic Partner : Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers providing expert guidance on recruitment strategies market trends and hiring best practices.
Lead the Talent Team : Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to two Recruiters ensuring consistent high-quality recruitment across all departments.
Drive Innovative Recruitment : Implement creative sourcing strategies and proactive outreach to build a robust talent pipeline and engage diverse high-performing candidates.
Champion Inclusive Hiring : Promote equitable and transparent recruitment practices that align with CSUs EEO and nondiscrimination principles and reflect SDSUs commitment to belonging.
Collaborate Across HR : Partner with Classification & Compensation Employee Relations and HR Analytics to ensure a coordinated compliant and data-driven approach to hiring.
Use Data to Drive Results : Track key recruitment metrics analyze trends and make informed recommendations to improve efficiency and candidate experience.
Shape the Candidate Experience : Ensure that every interaction from first contact to onboarding reflects SDSUs values of respect service and excellence.

Position Information
This is a full-time at-will role offering comprehensive benefits.
Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
Standard SDSU work hours are Monday Friday 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego after the training period.

The Division of Academic Affairs at San Diego State University advances the universitys academic mission by supporting excellence in teaching research scholarship and creative activities across all colleges and academic units. Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in full-cycle recruitment talent acquisition or human resources.
Key Qualifications
Proficiency with PageUp applicant tracking systems PeopleSoft HRIS and LinkedIn Recruiter.
Demonstrated success in using data analytics to drive recruitment strategy and improve hiring outcomes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build partnerships across diverse groups and organizational levels
