Statement of Purpose :
The Host has many opportunities for interaction with Members of KBYC. The interaction begins with the reservation process, continuing with the Members’ arrival to the Club, and ending with their departure from the Club. It is critical that the Host conveys confidence and authority, while also being warm and welcoming to all Members, especially during peak volume times. The Host must be knowledgeable about the restaurant's food and beverage offerings and be able to describe and explain menu items as needed. In addition, the Host must be informed about all details related to Club events and take an active role in promoting them. The Host plays an essential role in the success of every service by properly managing the Members’ arrival experience and by controlling the flow of Members into the restaurant. They must remain in constant communication with both the Front of House and Back of House Management teams to ensure fluidity and guarantee the highest levels of Member satisfaction. It is essential that the Host set the tone for the dining experience.
Primary Duties :
- Greet incoming and departing Members warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact
- Escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce server's name
- Inform the server of the Member name and any special occasions and / or known dietary restrictions
- Answer incoming calls and provide appropriate service
- Promote Club Events with knowledge of details and proper reservation processes
- Accurately maintain Member Recall Sheet
- Manage the flow of Members into the Dining and Bar areas; provide accurate wait times to incoming Members if appropriate
- Be proactive and observant of Members' needs throughout the dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service (e.g., notice a drink refill is needed while seating another Member and ensuring the drink is refilled prior to getting back to the door)
- Protect establishment and Members by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the podium
- Assist dining room staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages
