A leading, privately held distributor of plumbing / HVAC and industrial supplies with 400+ branches nationwide. The company operates on a decentralized model, where each branch functions as its own business with full authority over hiring, pricing, customer relationships, and profitability. THE JOB

The Forest Hill, MD branch is looking for a Sales Representative / Branch Manager to lead, rebuild, and grow the operation. The branch is currently in a turnaround stage, and the incoming leader will be responsible for driving top-line sales, hiring and developing a small team, and expanding the customer base throughout the greater Bel Air / Baltimore region. This is a hands-on, field-oriented role that blends outside sales leadership with day-to-day operational oversight.

Key responsibilities :

  • Oversee all branch operations with full P&L accountability.
  • Drive new business development through prospecting, cold calling, door-knocking, and winning contractor accounts.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor inside sales, counter staff, and drivers.
  • Manage pricing, quoting, inventory, warehouse logistics, and delivery operations.
  • Increase revenue through consistent outbound activity, exceptional service, and strong relationship building.

Branch snapshot :

  • Current team : 3 employees (no dedicated outside rep yet)
  • Current revenue : ~$1.4M (historical peak around $4M)
  • Target : Rebuild to $3–4M+ within three years
  • Territory : Approximately a 30–45-minute radius around Forest Hill / Bel Air, MD

    • THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven success in B2B field sales with branch, territory, or P&L responsibility
  • Hands-on leadership experience in distribution, building materials, or similar trades
  • Demonstrated ability to hunt and secure new business through proactive outbound efforts
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing small teams
  • Working knowledge of pricing, inventory management, logistics, and delivery coordination
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and highly persistent
  • Thrives with autonomy and leads from the field
  • High integrity, accountability, and resilience; motivated by profit-sharing incentives

    • Preferred backgrounds :

  • Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, industrial supply, MRO, or building-products distribution
  • Large-format retail / trade leadership (e.g., big-box) with strong people-management experience

    • THE BENEFITS

  • Base salary : $90,000
  • Year-1 profit-sharing guarantee : $10,000
  • Long-term earning potential : $200,000+ total compensation based on performance
  • Car allowance : $750–$850 / month (taxable) or optional FAVR vehicle program
  • Full benefits package : Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and Profit Sharing
