Virginia Licensed Area Forester

A company is looking for an Area Forester responsible for forest management and harvesting operations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee timber harvesting operations including planning, contract administration, and quality inspections

Develop site-specific silviculture prescriptions and administer local silviculture programs

Collaborate with external consultants and state agencies to minimize casualty losses and support non-timber revenue opportunities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field, or comparable experience

Minimum of 2 years' forest management experience preferred

Valid driver's license and insurable with the company's commercial carrier

Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office365 and GIS (ESRI)

Knowledge of key financial concepts applicable to business decisions
