DAY IN THE LIFE AS A SOUS CHEF

As the Sous Chef at Sodexo Live! in Austin, Texas, you'll engage your culinary expertise to prepare, portion, and present a diverse range of delicious food items for all meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special Events. Your role encompasses operating a variety of kitchen equipment, expertly handling ingredients-from washing and cutting fruits and vegetables to trimming meats and fish. With a focus on excellence, your responsibilities will include maintaining high standards of service, tasting dishes, and innovating menu selections that align with various festivities, all while embodying Longhorn pride and energetic teamwork. Guiding cooks and performing advanced cooking techniques, you'll ensure that each meal not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.

REQUIREMENTS

To thrive as a Sous Chef at Sodexo Live! in Austin, Texas, you must possess a blend of advanced culinary skills and practical experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional knife skills and proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques, from classical to contemporary.

Familiarity with kitchen equipment and the ability to operate it efficiently are crucial, as you'll be responsible for preparing and presenting a diverse menu. Effective communication and leadership skills are vital, enabling you to guide and mentor less experienced cooks while collaborating with your energetic team. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred.
• 4 or more years of related work experience.
