Radiologic Technologist (Radiology Tech) Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Patient Care

Technical Duties

Maintain equipment cleanliness, calibration, and operational readiness.

Documentation and Communication\n\nRecord patient data, procedure details, and imaging results in the electronic medical record (EMR).\n\nCollaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate results.\n\nReport equipment malfunctions and assist in troubleshooting minor technical issues.\n\nCompliance and Safety\n\nAdhere to HIPAA and facility safety standards.\n\nMaintain knowledge of radiologic technology standards, protocols, and updates.\n\nParticipate in continuing education and training to maintain certification and licensure.\n\nOptional Additions (Depending on Facility Type)\n\nAssist with portable X-rays in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or ICU settings.\n\nPerform fluoroscopy procedures under physician supervision.\n\nHandle contrast media preparation and administration (if credentialed).\n\nSupport trauma and emergency imaging in high-acuity settings (Trauma Level I / II / III facilities)
