Job Title : Wound Care Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 1 year preferred

License : Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Arizona

Certifications : Certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) required

Must-Have :

• Must be able to obtain and retain a fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety
• Current CPR card obtained through physical assessment

Description :

We are seeking a Wound Care Nurse for our team.

This position is flexible with scheduling options available.

Shifts may be from 7 AM to 3 PM, 8 AM to 4 PM, or 8 AM to 5 PM.

The role will involve performing wound assessments and management for patients.

You will develop skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown.

You will participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for managing residents with wounds, fistulae, and tubes.

You will revise care plans based on resident responses to treatment.

You will assess and reassess pain and utilize appropriate pain management techniques.

Education will be provided to residents and their families regarding pain management.

You will serve as a resource to nursing and other facility staff by providing in-services on wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence.

Clear communication with nursing staff and physicians is essential.

You will consult with other healthcare professionals to provide an interdisciplinary approach to resident needs.

It is important to ensure documentation meets current standards and practices.

You will attend training and continuing education classes related to wound prevention and management.

Staying current with changes and new advances in wound care is required.

Experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care environment is preferred.
