Overview

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs physical care of assigned patients (i.e. grooming, feeding etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Collects specimens as needed.-Assists and accompanies patients during admission or discharge.
  • Performs general care activities for patients.
  • Records patients’ personal care andphysical findings.
  • Performs a variety of tasks and activities according to the needs of the Department.
  • Performs EKG, monitors ECG telemetry equipment and Phlebotomy on Patients.

Qualifications

  • Must have two to three (2-3) years in acute / chronic orambulatory care setting. -
  • High School graduate or GED and completed a PCT course which should include EKG and Phlebotomy.
  • Good computer skills as well as organizational, written and verbal skills.
  • Telemetry certification and BLS Certification required.
  • Experience in Acute Psychiatry preferred.-Bilingual Preferred : English / Spanish.
