Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN with an active NM or compact license and Level I Trauma experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Position based in a Level I Trauma, Children’s, and Teaching Hospital settingWork in the Emergency Department with a patient ratio of 1 : 5Many Emergency Department rooms serve as 'ED Holding' for admitted patientsWork 36 or 48 hour weeks on night shifts (19 : 00—7 : 30)Floating to Adult PCUs and ED Holding units is expected based on staffing needs; optional floating to Peds ED and potential to Trauma department as neededCharting is completed using CernerTravel experience is strongly preferred, but first-time travelers with at least 2 years of Level I Trauma experience may be consideredMedication administration and documentation responsibilities are includedHigh percentage of Emergency Department patients are admitted, with frequent admit holdsWeekend shifts are scheduled as neededNo on-call responsibilitiesBlack scrubs required (not provided by facility)No parking fee at the facilityRequests for more than 7 days off require prior approvalRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license required; pending license accepted at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; applicants with at least 1.5 years may be reviewedLevel I Trauma experience preferredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must have before submission), PALS, NIH (may be obtained before start date)COVID-19 vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentationNo local applicants accepted within a 75-mile radiusBenefits
