Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Physician (MD) to join our Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center. The physician will provide comprehensive internal medicine services within an open access / medical home care model, collaborating with a multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure high-quality care.

Essential Functions :

• Deliver preventative, acute, and chronic care for patients assigned to your panel, and support other providers' patients during high-volume periods or absences.
• Conduct general medical examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions across all organ systems.
• Promote preventive health and maintenance care, including physicals, immunizations, and patient education on positive health behaviors.
• Document all outpatient and inpatient encounters accurately in the EMR system in accordance with Army regulations and FHC policies.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with complex conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, arthritis, and cancer.
• Prescribe medications per protocols, educate patients on proper use and side effects, and maintain accurate records.
• Order, evaluate, and interpret radiology and laboratory tests; refer to specialty clinics as appropriate.
• Provide prescription renewals and telephonic consultative services.
• Mentor and provide guidance to other healthcare providers, including nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, in-service training, and other duties as assigned.
