Software Engineer (Backend)

About the Job

This role is designed for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in fast-moving high-ownership environments. Youll build production-grade systems that power next-generation real-time user research technology. This is an onsite position with an expectation of 80100% in-office work.

What Youll Be Doing :

  • Design develop and optimize backend services APIs and real-time data processing systems.
  • Build and scale infrastructure that handles real-time streaming analysis and classification.
  • Implement and refine in-house Large Language Model capabilities.
  • Lead project life cycles from concept through production deployment.
  • Partner directly with founders on technical strategy and product direction.
  • Engage with users to understand needs and continuously improve core functionality.

    • What Youll Need :

  • 310 years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade backend systems
  • Strong proficiency with Python
  • Experience with Django
  • Extensive knowledge of Postgres or SQL databases
  • Experience deploying and managing services on AWS
  • Ability to operate with high ownership in ambiguous fast-paced environments
  • Willingness to work 80100% onsite in San Francisco
