Elevate your engineering career with an exciting opportunity in construction and infrastructure management. As an Engineer Construction 3, you will play a pivotal role in planning, designing, and overseeing complex facility projects within a dynamic environment. Located primarily at our site in Newport News, this position offers a challenging and rewarding environment where your expertise will directly impact large-scale construction initiatives, ensuring safety, compliance, and high quality throughout each project phase.
Required Skills :
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) or related fields such as Construction Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant exempt experience in construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of utility distribution systems, infrastructure design, and construction practices
- Experience developing design criteria, contract documents, and execution strategies
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including overseeing suppliers and contractors
- Proficiency with technical standards such as the National Electric Code, ASME Codes (B31.1, IX), Virginia and International Building Codes, NFPA, and ADA compliance
- Familiarity with construction lifting, handling operations, and working around cranes
- Excellent project management skills, including schedule adherence, budget control, and critical path management
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders at remote sites and across teams
- Valid driver's license with ability to obtain yardwide access and necessary PPE
