The Opportunity :

Are you an entrepreneurial CPA or EA ready to take full ownership of your client relationships and professional growth? We offer a unique opportunity to manage and expand your own dedicated book of business. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive tax preparation, planning, and advisory services, acting as a trusted advisor and fostering long-term partnerships. You will spearhead all aspects of your client portfolio, from initial consultation and engagement to ongoing service and strategic business development. Relying on a robust administrative staff and strong accounting team, you will be able to maximize your time with client facing responsibilities and developing talent.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Client Portfolio Management :

Manage all aspects of a dedicated book of individual and / or business tax clients with the support of an exceptional accounting and administrative team.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building trust and providing exceptional, personalized service.
  • Proactively communicate with clients regarding tax law changes, planning opportunities, and compliance requirements.
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance :

    • Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations (S-Corp, C-Corp), partnerships, trusts, and estates, as applicable to your expertise and client base.

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely filing of all client tax returns and related forms.
  • Stay current with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Leverage your time by utilizing our in-house tax administration support.
  • Tax Planning & Advisory :

    • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to help clients minimize tax liabilities and achieve their financial goals.

  • Translate technical research about complex tax issues into practical solutions your clients can understand and depend on.
  • Represent clients before the IRS and other tax authorities as needed.
  • Business Development :

    • Leverage the power of our brand to identify and cultivate new client relationships to expand your book of business.

  • Network within the community and relevant professional organizations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for client acquisition and retention.
  • Practice Management & Administration :

    • Manage onboarding, engagement letters, billing, and collections for your clients.

  • Maintain organized and accurate client files and documentation in accordance with our standards.
  • Utilize tax preparation software and other relevant technologies efficiently.

    • Qualifications :

  • BA or BS in Accounting or a related field; CPA or EA certification.
  • At least 8-10 years of accounting experience with progressive experience in tax preparation and consulting across the broad spectrum of income tax rules and strategies related to the needs of individuals and business owners.
  • Have experience with technical tax return review.
  • Have experience in a client-facing role.
  • Proficiency with Thomson Reuters tax preparation software (preferred), Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
